NEU: IGEMA LED SecureEx

LED SecureEx

LED lighting for technical applications, now with ATEX approval

IGEMA develops "LED SecureEx" LED protection tube lamp for the Ex zone

Everybody is familiar with the IGEMA transparent display with background lighting that reliably indicates the fill level on a steam boiler. The brilliant illumination of the backlighting ensures high contrast, permitting the clear separation of water and steam. IGEMA has continually refined this lighting technology over the years - from conventional lamps and halogens to thoroughly cost-effective LED lamps that require only about a fifth of the energy of conventional lamps while hardly generating any heat and lasting about four times as long.

The company's latest development is LED lighting in transparent and green-red variants that can be used in explosion hazard zones. The electronics team at IGEMA has reliably eliminated potential ignition sources, such as energy storage devices or sparks.

The first version of the lamp can be used in Ex zone 2 in equipment category 3. ATEX certification for zone 1 will be approved in the next few months.

But the LED protective tube lamp has a lot more to offer: It can be used at ambient temperatures of up to 80 °C and has an IP protection class of 67 due to its demonstrated dust and moisture tightness. So it can not only be used for level displays on steam boilers, but in any technical system and mechanical equipment in environments with aggressive gases, dusts and moisture.

The protective tube lamp is available in different lengths, as well as for 230 V and 110 V voltage.
